PATERSON, James Campbell

PATERSON, James Campbell – passed away March 4th in Surrey, B.C. at the age of 72. He was predeceased by his parents James Paterson and Audrey (Campbell) Paterson. Jim is survived by his sister Margaret Jefferson and her husband Gary Jefferson. He is also survived by his two nieces June Bernier (Keith) of Elora and Joanne Buell of Guelph and two nephews John Jefferson (Cyndy) of Drayton and Jim Jefferson of Fergus. He was a great uncle to 11 and great great uncle too. Jim was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 1960 where he went on to play with the Jr. A Peterborough Petes for 4 years becoming captain in his fourth year. He went on to play semi pro hockey in the U.S. for 9 years. In the summer, he played lacrosse with Sr. A Peterborough Lakers and helped them win a Mann Cup. He coached minor lacrosse in Peterborough and was a salesman for Labatts Brewing Company in the Kawarthas. A private service will be held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus.
