Passed away peacefully on January 26, 2021 after living his entire life in the Armstrong’s Mill valley, on Mill Road in Guelph Township. Ross was born on October 31, 1932 and was predeceased by his wife Irene Ritchie (2012) who he married on January 8, 1955 at Barrie Hill United Church. Also predeceased by his parents George Ross Parkinson and Violet Parkinson and his sister Joyce Cameron. Ross proudly raised Canadian mink for 75 years, first establishing his business at 13 years of age, at his parents’ home along the Speed River. Ross and Irene purchased land nearby in the valley and raised three children on their farm, Ted (Elaine), Allen (Kim) and Susan (Brad). Grandfather of Eric, Jenny, Cassie, Jake, Erin, Christin, Katie-Lynn and Victoria and many great grandchildren. Dear brother of Lois Schink (the late Jerry), George H. Parkinson (Pat), and William Parkinson (Helen). Ross was an outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing with his buddies and family members since early childhood. Ross was kind, quiet and a humble man with a dry sense of humour. This great patriarch and quality mink rancher will be missed and forever remembered. Due to present conditions, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Those who so desire may make a donation in his memory to Barrie Hill United Church. Arrangements entrusted to the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel. A tree will be planted in memory of Ross Parkinson in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
