Of Mount Forest, passed away at the Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest on Friday, October 9th, 2020 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Catherine O’Donnell (2019). Loving father of Donna Banton of Alliston, Julia and her husband Paul Belanger of Kingston, James O’Donnell of Wellington North, and Joseph O’Donnell and his wife Debbie of Mount Forest. Cherished grandfather of Sarah and her husband James, Stacey and her husband Matt, Jessica and her husband Lanicel, Janeen, Krista and her husband Shawn, Ashley and her husband Kevin, Kortney, and great-grandfather of 12. Dear brother-in-law of Margaret and her husband Morley McLean, Mary Montgomery, and Betty O’Donnell. Predeceased by his nine siblings. Bert was the Treasurer of St. Benedict’s Hockey League, St. Benedict’s Bowling League, the Father Henry Carr Dad’s Club and Secretary of the Club 55 Bowling League. He was a dedicated parishioner and choir member of St. Mary’s Church, and a member of the Mount Forest Legion. He was also a volunteer driver for Cancer Patient Services. Bert was an avid golfer, bowler and card player. He touched the lives of many and will be missed. A private Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary of the Purification Roman Catholic Church. A Celebration of Life for extended family and friends will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Cancer Patient Services or St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.
