Neldon, Joy Virginia (nee Platten); Passed away April 10, 2014, in her 86th year battling cancer in the Hospice Simcoe (Barrie, ON). Predeceased by father Charles Lambert Platten, mother Ila May Platten (nee Woolsey), sisters Ila, Adele, Iris, Francis, Cherie, brothers Charles, Danny, Marvin. Sadly missed by sister June Fairhead (Barrie), Lola & Winston Bridges (Mt. Forest), James & Doreen Platten (Ripley), Billy & Shirley (Toronto), Sister-in-law Alice Todoroff (Orillia), also many nieces & nephews. Joy was a dedicated employee at the Globe and Mail for many years. A model at Walter Thornton Modeling School. A very beautiful sophisticated lady. Joy took her last breath, with sister Lola, niece Karen and great nephew Joe, at her side in prayer. Heaven received another angel, now in the Lord’s hands. Jo will be put to rest with sister Ila. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank niece Linda for her passionate care, through Joy’s battle.
