45 years old – of Cambridge, Ontario It is with heavy hearts her family announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Hamilton General Hospital, surrounded by family, after a lengthy battle against cancer and lupus. Tara is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Molly Myers, and her two cherished nieces, Morgan and Jozsiphine of Fergus. Tara was born in St. Catharines, ON to Jo-Ann (née Hoekstra) and Robert Myers (both pre-deceased) on October 14, 1977. Tara will be sadly missed by countless cousins, friends and colleagues. Tara went to JF Ross high school in Guelph, ON. She earned her Architectural degree at Ryerson University, Toronto, ON. After university she went on to work at Kiwi Newton, Guelph. Then she worked many years at Maple Reinders as project co-ordinator for many large construction facilities builds. Tara lived her live to the fullest even with all her medical challenges. She enjoyed travelling in fact her last trip was in July of this year to Cuba and she returned with an amazing tan. She is a huge Hamilton Ticat, Toronto Blue Jay and Detroit Red Wings fan. Visitation will be at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus on Thursday, October 5th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral service will be Friday, October 6th at 11am at St. Joseph Church, 760 St. David Street North, Fergus. Burial will follow at Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus. Memorial donations may be made to Lupus Ontario, Breast Cancer Canada, or to the organization of your choice. We would like to thank Dr. Reddy and his team of surgeons and all the ICU nurses who all fought so hard for Tara in her battle against cancer. Their dedication and support of the whole family is a true testament of their talent, compassion and care of all at the Hamilton General Hospital.
