MURRAY, John Ronald of Clifford passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family at the Palmerston and District Hospital on Friday, August 3, 2018 in his 80th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Amelia (Carruthers) for 60 years. Cherished father of Deborah Simmons (Ron), the late David Murray (1972), Dianne Schieck (Brad), Nancy Gibson (Gary), Helen Murray (Ken Batte), Alphonse Murray (Crystal). Grandfather of the late Wade Simmons (2000), Tamara, Shelby (Kristen); Victoria (Alvin), Kevin (Alanna), Scott (Niki), Stephen; Tiffany (Jamie), Jesse (Nikki), Riley; Joni, Jami (Alex) Joseph, Jerica (Luke); Shawnee, Sierra. Cherished by his great grandchildren Trinity, Tristan, Amelia; Skylar, Cole, Brodi; Marissa, Kendra, Austin, Janessa, Olivia; Elizabeth. Brother of Frank and Bernice Murray, Leo Murray, Margaret Anne Dales, Eleanor Kraemer, Joan Murray, Gerald and Nancy Murray, Barb and Doug Schmidt and Elaine Fisher. Brother-in-law of Marilyn MacIntyre, Don and Marilyn Bannerman, Marion Mowbray, Jerry and Joan Mowbray, Sharyn and Alex Thompson and Alan Mowbray. Predeceased by his parents P. A. and Gertrude Murray and Amelia’s parents David and Margaret Carruthers and step father Virden Mowbray, sister Veronica and Keith McCarter brothers Ab and Gloria Murray, Charlie Murray, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Imelda Murray, Bob Dales, Lorne Kraemer, Donald Fisher, Donald MacIntyre, Janet Bannerman and John Mowbray. To honour John’s wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Crawford Funeral Chapel, 243 George Street, Arthur on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service of Remembrance will be held in the Arthur Legion Branch 229, 281 George Street, Arthur on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Palmerston Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. www.heritagefuneralhomes.ca
