Alieda Rebecca (Hossfeld) Murray of Clifford passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, in her 92nd year. Wife of the late Lyle Murray. Mother to Judith Anne and Hugh Douglas of Howick Township, and Neil and Angie Murray of Waterloo. Wonderful grandmother (and great-grandmother) to John Douglas, Paul and Alanna Douglas (Layla and Preston), Emily and Georg Bijman (Annie, Adeline, Eden, Ellie, and Alena), Branden Murray, and Grace Murray. Sister of Marlene and Bruce Giles of Port Elgin. Alieda loved her family and her community. Her activities included her love of teaching in a one room school; her involvement in the Lakelet Woman’s Institute; dedication to the Howick Agricultural Society, including serving as Provincial President of the Homecraft division; her faithful dedication to the Clifford United church, serving on various church committees, the UCW, and many years directing the choir; her participation in organizations in the Clifford community including directing the Clifford Heritage players, Clifford Historical Fair, Meals on Wheels, and Minto Seniors Committee. All these experiences made her an extraordinary Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Visitation will be held at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Knox United Church, Clifford on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 11:00am. The service will be livestreamed and the link will be available on the funeral home website. Interment in Clifford Cemetery. Memorial donations to Knox United Church, Royal Terrace Resident’s Council or Palmerston & District Hospital would be appreciated.
