Obituary

Bill left us peacefully August 30th, 2020, days shy of his 89th birthday (Born Sept. 10, 1931) Bill is survived by his beloved wife Laureen Elizabeth (Swanston), married 65 years. Bill was the father to Robert Moore (Marion), Sheryl Palmer (Niel) and the late Earl George Moore (2011). Bill was the adoring Grandfather of Alex Moore (Jenna), Adam Moore, Nic Moore (Brittany), Adrian and Devan Palmer; Great-Grandfather of Carl and Mackenna (2nd Great-Grandson is arriving this month). Bill is survived by his brother Harry Moore and late wife Ruth. Predeceased by his parents, Earl Moore and Eunice Donalda Wilson step-father Guy. Bill retired in 1993 after 16 years as a Senior Property Appraiser with Ontario Hydro. Prior work with the Ministry of Transportation in the property division, and he practiced real estate in the area. Although he enjoyed his career, his heart was always on the family farm in Orton, Ontario. Big Bad Bill’s life involved constant stories from his past, and joke telling. He was an avid history buff and enjoyed a large inventory of war and old movie discs in each of his later days. His hobbies included wood working, and plenty of travel with the camping trailer especially in retirement. Always lending a hand to anyone, anytime with anything, a very kind generous man will be missed. A private Memorial Service for Bill was held at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street, North, Guelph on Saturday September 5, 2020 with interment of ashes to take place at Huxley Cemetery, Hillsburgh, Ontario.
