Peacefully, with the most attentive staff at Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, Laureen is now by the side of her husband of 65 years, William Henry Moore (August 30, 2020). She missed Bill terribly this last year. She was a trooper, and like a cat with 9 lives; she fought hard and was motivated to live for her family and especially her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Missing Mom will be her son, Robert Moore (Marion) of Ariss, and daughter Sheryl Palmer (Niel) of Fergus. Predeceased by son Earl Moore (March 20, 2011). Special Grandma of Alex Moore (Jenna), Adam Moore, Nicholas Moore (Brittany), Adrian Palmer and Devan Palmer. Being a Great Grandma was life-sustaining for Mom. She loved to show off her precious pictures of Great Grandsons Carl and James Moore and finally a Pink Package with Great-Granddaughter Mackenna Moore (Great Grandma sure wanted to “change the pattern to pink”). Mom worked at the University of Guelph in AG Economics in the 1950s, Silverwood Dairy and finally Health of Animals until a brain aneurysm necessitated early retirement. She and Dad continued to travel and camp well into their seventies, until they found their “other family” in Heritage River in Elora in 2008. Diagnosed with a congenital heart defect in her sixties, donations in lieu of flowers are gratefully accepted in Mom’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Mom is predeceased by brother Raymond Swanston, sister Florence Stewart (Donald residing in Kitchener) and her beloved twin sister Eileen Bauer (Martin of Belwood). A private family memorial will be held for Laureen. Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Reenie – you will always and forever be missed.
MOORE, Laureen Elizabeth (Swanston),
