MILTON, Donald Peter; Of rural Acton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday September 21, 2014, at age 84. Predeceased by Mae (Wingfield) 2012, his loving wife of 58 years. Dear father of Donna and John Kingsmill, Gary Milton, Peter and Cathy Milton, Cecilia and Dan Wheeler, Jamie and Ruth Milton, Jeffery Milton, and the late Matthew Milton. Loving Grandpa of 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Brother of the late Joseph (Lois), the late Bernice (late Phil Blaney), the late Jack (Jessie), Charles (late Betty) and Margaret (Ray Blaney). Donald was very well respected, valued and loved by all whom he crossed paths with. He was active in his church community and served with pride with the Knights of Columbus. He spent many happy hours playing euchre with good friends. He was a conscientious farmer and was always on the look-out for ‘treasures’ to add to his vast inventory. Donald’s greatest love and pride was his family often saying, “Family comes first.” Friends were received at the Blue Springs Funeral Home, Acton, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8:45 p.m. Funeral mass of Christian burial was at St Joseph, Patron of Canada, Catholic Church, Acton, Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at 11 a.m. Cremation and interment will be at a later date, Fairview Cemetery, Acton. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
