Miller, Muriel Jean (Moffatt) – Peacefully in her sleep, at Riverside Glen Long Term Care, on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the age of 78. Beloved wife of John of 57 years. Loving mother of John (Lorie) and David. Cherished grandma of Sean, Elizabeth, Jacob, Isaac and Benjamin. Dear sister of Russell Moffatt. Muriel will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Muriel started her teaching career with the Kitchener Public School Board in the mid 1950’s. She transitioned to the Waterloo School Board where she taught for a while before going to teach grade one at the Shelldale Public School in Guelph. She worked there from 1970 to 1991 until she retired. While working at Shelldale Public School, Muriel obtained her BA from the University of Waterloo. Muriel was a devoted genealogist in her spare time and loved her gardening. Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Thursday, April 14, 2011. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 11am. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Parkinson Society or to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
