72, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Friday September 13th at her home in Belwood. She had been struggling with multiple heath issues for some time and is now at peace. Born April 21, 1947 in Montreal to Marcelle (nee Vandette) and Edward Donald McKay, Lynn attended Queen of Angels Academy where she met her best friend of over 50 years Patricia (Pat) Nash (nee Currie) and later McGill University. While attending Loyola College in Montreal in 1967, Lynn met her beloved husband of over 49 years, Robert (Bob) Paul. Lynn left a promising career in finance to raise her sons Robert (Robbie) McKay and Donald (Donny) Edward and to be a den mother to countless friends of her boys over the years. Lynn excelled at creating a home that was welcoming to all and she was always there with an open heart for anyone who needed her. Known for her active involvement in school and community activities, Lynn and Bob enjoyed over 30 years in Oakville before moving to Belwood. Always an avid fisherwoman, Lynn loved her new home of Belwood where she volunteered with the Belwood Lions. She enjoyed spending time surrounded by nature and the peacefulness that country life on a small farm allowed in her later years. Lynn is survived by her husband Bob, sons and their wives Rob and Kristi Mercier, Don and Seana Mercier and grandchildren Mikayla Leslie and Dominic Edward; the absolute joys of her life. There was a funeral service at St. Joseph’s Church, 760 St. David St. North, Fergus on Tuesday September 17th at 12:00pm and all are invited to celebrate Lynn on Saturday September 21st at the Belwood Hall, 36 Queen St., Belwood from 1:00 – 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.
