McLEAN, Ian Malcolm – It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ian Malcolm McLean on November 16, 2016 at Hospice Wellington, Guelph, in his 80th year. Husband of Mary Frances Shore for over 49 years. Predeceased by infant son Daniel Ian Cameron (1970). Father of Alison McLean Redpath (Brian) of Guelph and Andrew Ian Alexander McLean of Minnesota, USA. Proudest Grandpa of granddaughter Cameron Alexandra Redpath. Son of the late Donald (1978) and Maude McLean (1992). Brother of Lois of Puslinch, Robert and Jean of Kamloops, BC, Alastair and Jean of London, the late Alan “Red” (2007) and Mary Lou of Guelph and Wilfrid “Bill” of Puslinch. Son-in-law of the late George and Iris Shore of Burlington. Brother-in-law of the late Robert James Shore (2016) and Sally Verlaan. Favourite brother-in-law of Margaret Clack of Waterdown. Will be sadly missed by Debbie Seeley, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Ian was a twenty-five year employee of Shell Canada, but was first and foremost a proud farmer. He attended a Thursday night euchre game for 39 years running, was an affiliate member of Waterdown Royal Canadian Legion 551, plus the “Grand Poop Pa” of the Friday night Badenoch Lodge. Ian was a gentle man and the earth was a much better place because he walked it. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at 10:30 a.m. Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Reception to follow. Please note: This is a scent-free function. A private interment will be held at Crown Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 519-822-0051 or www.wallcustance.com.
