McInnis, Norman Joseph; Peacefully at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Arthur on Wednesday December 5, 2007 in his 92nd year. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Joan McInnis (2007). Dear father of Oriole (Jim) Blyth of Mt. Forest, June (Mark) McNamara of Owen Sound, Linda Beaudin of St. Thomas and Adele (Steve) Small of Mt. Forest. Loving grandpa of nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Survived by brother-in-law Brian (Joan) Watkin of New Brunswick, sister-in-law Barbara Bunney of Fergus and brother-in-law Bill (Phyllis) Wilson of Alma. Predeceased by sisters Viola Jack and Oriole Howatt. Norm was born in Proton Township and was raised in the Arthur area. He served with the armed forces during WW II and was awarded the British Empire Medal. In England he met and married Joan Watkin. They enjoyed almost 64 years of married life together. Norm was a member at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Arthur. Over the years he served on the board of managers and as an elder. He was involved with the Greenfield Cemetery Board, the Crieff Hills Retreat Centre and was recognized by the Canadian Bible Society for 40 years of service. Family received friends at the St. John Parish Center 160 Georgina St., Arthur on Friday December 7, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was held from St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Arthur on Saturday December 8, 2007 at 11 a.m. Spring interment Greenfield Cemetery, Arthur. Remembrances to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Arthur or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be greatly appreciated by the family.
