MCGINNIS, Glenn Clarence

January 22, 1956 - March 3, 2024

On March 3rd, 2024, our family lost a dear husband, father, brother, papa and friend. Glenn was born in Guelph on January 22nd, 1956 to the late Joseph McGinnis and Rosemarie McGinnis (née Muller). He leaves behind his wife Karen (née Hudson), his son Greg, his daughter Lia, and his beautiful grandchildren. He is sadly missed by his sister Moira Ridout (née McGinnis) (Mark) and brother Mark McGinnis. He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law Janet Hudson and Sharon Noble-Hudson (Gary 2012), and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. Glenn taught at Centre Wellington District High School where he loved creating lessons for students that were inspiring and full of humour that made learning fun. He also enjoyed about writing and directing plays about our local history, involving everyone who shared his passion. Everyone loved Glenn, he was always full of fun and never had a lack of funny stories to share. Glenn loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a great listener and took joy in hearing all about our lives. He was the soul of our family and his passing is heartbreaking. The Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 10th, 2024 at Royal Canadian Elora Legion, Branch #229, 110 Metcalfe Street in Elora, from 3:00pm – 5:30pm, with a few words from the family from 4:00pm to 4:15pm and a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that a donation be provided to Parkinson’s Canada.
