Peacefully on Friday, November 24, 2023 at the Louise Marshall Hospital in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Penny McDonald for 42 years. Loving father of Josh McDonald and his wife Jaclyn, Brenden McDonald and his wife Stacey, Luke McDonald and his wife Jessica, and Ellen Tews. Loving grandfather of Dylan, Nolan, Liam, Hudson, Milton, Roslyn, Wes, Sydney, Teagan, Lauren, Cyle, Conrad, Magnus, and Ivan. Dear brother of Donna Martin (Paul), Tom McDonald (Sheila), Sandy McDonald (Paulette), Debbie Ellis (Gerald), Elaine Rundle (Dwight), Mike McDonald (Sherry) and brother-in-law of Debbie McDonald. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Dan is predeceased by his parents Fred & Marie McDonald, and by his brothers Neil and Bill McDonald. Dan worked on the pipeline all across Canada, which he did all of his working life. He enjoyed hunting, a game of euchre and was known to have the wood stove going in his shed. But above all he loved playing with, and hanging out with his grandchildren. Funeral Mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 9141 Highway 6, Kenilworth on Tuesday, November 28th at 11:00am with visitation from 10:00-10:45am. Interment at Holstein Cemetery.
