Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 15, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre at the age of 87. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years Marilyn, devoted father to Ryan (Leigh), cherished grandpa to Reid, cousin and good friend Roy McDonald. Les will be forever remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, including his close-knit neighbourhood community. His passion above all else was his family including his grand-dog Howie. Les enjoyed walking outdoors, attending dances with live country music, as well as tending to his garden especially his tomato plants and raspberries. He spent many years as a service manager at an International Truck dealership in Guelph, finally retiring full-time at the age of 83. He loved trucks and tractors. An avid baseball fan, he was especially fond of the Toronto Blue Jays, he learned to play the banjo and guitar in his seventies and he enjoyed the simple things in life. He was quick witted and always there with a good joke or piece of wisdom, Les will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A visitation for Les will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 11:30am to 1:00pm at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Hart Chapel (1099 Gordon St. Guelph). A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 1:00pm. The committal will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park (762 Woolwich St. Guelph) following the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations directed to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
