Passed peacefully in her sleep at her home she had built with her husband with family at her side. Predeceased by her husband William McCullough (2017), her parents Gordon and Gladys Sherritt (1994) and her 5 siblings. Greatly missed by her 3 children Dave (Gerri), Doreen (Glen), Elly (Paul), her 8 grandchildren Mary (Ariss), Sarah, Danny, B.J., Dustin, Billy, Brittney, Cameron and her 3 great grandchildren Zoe, Samantha and Ella. Her kitties Tommy and Sammy, her grand pups Hemingway and Shade. Mom loved her flowerbeds, lawn ornaments and sitting outside on warm summer nights. She loved to bake and often had requests for date squares and butter tarts. Often there was a “tart war” between Uncle Dave and Billy at family meals until Mom got creative and hid them where neither of them could find them. A very loyal Toronto Maple Leaf fan- during game night no one was allowed to interrupt her while the puck was on the ice. She loved to knit and crochet when it was too cold or wet to be outside. Her favourite of all was spending time with her family and grand children. Mom’s favourite poem which she always said rang true was “The Clock of Life”
The clock of life is wound but once,
And no man has the power
to tell just when the hand will stop
At late or early hour.
Now is the only time you own
Live, love and toil with a will;
Place no faith in tomorrow
for the clock may then be still
Mom loved her life, her hobbies and her family most of all. Even though our hearts have been broken with her passing and we miss her so much already, she would want us to be happy for her. Her life was full and she has been reunited with Dad- who she had been missing so much. A private family service will be held. Donations may be made to Cat Anonymous Rescue and Adoption or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
