McCort, Daniel Grant (Dan)

McCort, Daniel Grant (Dan); In his 61st year passed away on November 28, 2013.  He is fondly remembered by his siblings Carol O’Brien, Gary McCort, Deb Dalziel and their families. In Dan’s younger years his career was launched at Boyd Conservation Authority which fostered his passion for horticulture, landscape design, native and ornamental trees and plants. Dan’s love for the outdoors was a happy work environment for him for decades to come. Dan spent many happy years with friends and family in Arthur, Ontario. The Arthur Curling Club, Legion, and local parks were favoured spots of Dan’s.  Dan’s passion for reading, history and especially the Civil War made for many lively discussions. In the past few years with Dan’s health failing and his ability to work, his family found comfort that he was fortunate to have the support of the “Hospitality House pilot program” in Kitchener, Ontario. Special thanks to Barb, Brian, Tanya and Dr. G. Berrigan along with their support teams, who provided Dan with the tools and grace to enjoy an enriched and independent lifestyle. To his family, Dan was a proud, kind brother who laughed easily and was always interested in the activities of our young families. Dan’s gentle spirit will be remembered and we are all better people with having Dan in our lives. Dan’s life was celebrated privately by his brother and sisters.
