McCARL, Mary Roberta (Roach)

January 5, 1938 - December 25, 2023

“If you’re reading this, it means I’ve gone to join my beloved husband Ken Sr (2005). I passed from this world Christmas morning December 25, 2023 just 11 days shy of my 86th birthday.” It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved & beautiful mom, grandma, great grandma & great great grandma on Christmas morning Dec 25, 2023.There to greet her in heaven was the love of her life, her husband Kenneth A McCarl. (2005). Also waiting with big hugs at heavens gates is her daughter Connie Gibson (Ted) (May 2023). Mary was born January 5, 1938 in Guelph, Ontario to John (Jack) Roach & Madge Hunter Roach & was a fiercely proud 3rd generation Irish lady. Left to immensely mourn her passing are her daughter Bonnie Buckley (Charlie) of Guelph, son Ken McCarl Jr (Tamara) of Cambridge, grandchildren Bill Buckley (Steph) Aaron Buckley (Carrie), Stephanie Buckley (Loree) (Ev), Kayla Ashley (Shawn), Shannon Miller (Mike), Zack McCarl & Ryan McCarl. Also survived by 12 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild. Also predeceased by her sister Pauline (Betty) Thompson (2013) & infant sister Jacqueline (1939). She leaves behind her precious kitty Winnie who misses her so much, she loved her dearly. Mary loved her family fiercely. She put everyone’s needs before hers her entire life & was always there to lend a hand no matter what was needed. She was a selfless caregiver to all who needed help. We can find comfort knowing she is reunited with the love of her life Ken & they are celebrating the Christmas season in heaven together. A memorial service will be held at Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Thursday, January 4th, 2024 at 11:00am in the chapel with visitation starting an hour prior to the service.
