McCABE, Alvina (Allie) (Blondie) Lillian  (née Phillips)

December 9, 1934 - August 11, 2023

Passed away peacefully on Friday, August 11 in Wallaceburg, ON, surrounded by the love of her family. The family would like to thank everyone at Fairfield Park for the exceptional care Mom received there. Predeceased by her devoted husband, Edward (Ted) Larkin McCabe (1981) and her dear parents Martha and Rudy. Also predeceased by her siblings; Mildred (Jack) McLean, Ernest (Beatrice) Phillips, Thomas (Bernice) Phillips, Jack (Ilene) Phillips, Elsie Miller, Anne (Alvin) Hummel, and her brother-in-law Wilf Colley. Survived by her sister, Rosalie Colley, and her brother-in-law, Jack Miller. Loving mother of Brian (Beth) of Dresden, Steven (Janette) of Toronto, Calvin (Deb) of Chatham, Allan (Laurie) of Chatham, Lisa (Ted) Arnott of Fergus, and John (Cheryl) of Arthur. Proud Grandma of Colin (Katie), Reide, Paige (Eric), Lauren (Greg), Robert (Audrianna), Meghan (Anthony), Ben, Adam (Amanda), Lindsay (Mike), Matthew (Meg), Jack (Robin), Phillip, Dean, Alex and Riley, and Great-grandma of Cole, Quinn, Carlyn, Larken, Ellie, Kyriee, Christian, Reese, Ivey, Anna, Max, Macey, and Mickson. Allie will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will take place at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home (280 St. David Street South, Fergus) on Friday, August 18th, 2023 from 12-2pm, with a Celebration of Life service to immediately follow at 2pm. Following the service, guests are invited upstairs to the Wellington Room for a time of fellowship and refreshments. Elevator access is available. Another Celebration of Life will be held for Allie at the Dresden Legion (180 St. George Street North, Dresden) on Saturday, October 21st from 1 – 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Allie may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and are greatly appreciated by her family.
