McAULEY, Neil Ernest. Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 87 years old. Neil is survived by his wife Joan McAuley. Remembered by his daughter Katrina (Alan) Plazek, grandson Jason Plazek, granddaughter Roberta (Quest) Dawson and great granddaughter Autumn and daughter Krista (Alan) Soper, granddaughters Nerissa (Andy) Faulkner and Larena Soper and great granddaughter Jessica. Neil served in the Air Force for 18 yrs after which he went to the University of Western Ontario and became a high school teacher in Toronto for 15 years, teaching electricity/electronics. Neil was a kind, quiet, gentle soul whose passion was always music, he played the trombone in several musical groups and his rich baritone voice was his pride. A heartfelt thank you to The Wellington Terrace staff for their remarkable and compassionate care over the past two and half years, and making it a second home for him. There will be a private family service and interment at Belsyde Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Wellington Terrace Recreation/Gardens Fund would be appreciated by the family.
