Karl Lesley McAlonen, 58, of Fergus, Ontario, passed away quietly in his sleep at home on March 11, 2024. He will be sorely missed by his loving wife, Mary-Ellen, children Christopher and Bailey, twin brother Kelly, mother Lesley and the myriad of friends who have also grown to love him. Karl was born at St. Michael’s hospital in Toronto alongside his identical twin brother Kelly on November 24, 1965. Over the early years, he travelled across Canada with his mother and brother until he came to rest back in Toronto around 1982. He worked in the hospitality field for a quarter century, charming people in Scarborough, Peterborough and Waterloo. He then joined Kegs Draft Services, in a long and happy partnership with friend Paul Ernest, working at a career he truly loved almost until the day he passed away. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched in the process. He lived well, he laughed loudly, he loved always. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 23, 2024, from 1pm – 4pm at the Elora Legion (110 Metcalfe St., Elora, ON). Instead of flowers, the family would gratefully appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
