MAY, Elmer Paul (Paul)

Passed away peacefully at the Wellington Terrace in Fergus, Ontario, on November 30th 2024 in his 83rd year. He was the loving husband of the late Diane May (Wrigglesworth) and is survived by his son Tim (Kirsten), daughter Sherry, grandson Andy, and granddaughter Abby. He was a devoted brother to the late Lois Thomson (Charles) and Joan Featherstone (Ron). Paul grew up on his family dairy farm in Hornby, Ontario, and later moved the cattle to Mayhaven Farms in Rockwood, Ontario, which is still in operation today. Paul was an avid vocalist, singing in the church choir, competing in quartets in his youth, and belting out tunes from the tractor seat; he even managed to serenade the team at Wellington Terrace through his oxygen mask during his final days. He loved woodworking, harvesting, milling, and drying lumber from his property for his many projects. Paul was a proud dairy farmer; he gladly opened his farm to research, university students, and the public. He was known for his exceptional animal welfare and milk quality, winning countless awards for his dedication to perfection. Paul was a wonderful friend and neighbour, always there to lend a hand and as honest as a day is long; he will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. Donations can be made to the Wellington Terrace in Fergus or the Stone United Church in Rockwood.
