Of Guelph, passed away at the Guelph General Hospital on Friday, May 24, 2019, in her 85th year. Beloved wife and best friend of 58 years to the late Clinton “Clint” Martin (2013). Loved mother of Bradley (Judy) Martin, Lorna (Barry) Brooks, Eric Martin, and Grant Martin. Loving grandmother of Jason, Brett, Randy, John, Scott, Quinn, Curtis, and Ashley. Great grandmother of Drew. Dear sister of Elaine (Doug) Hodges, Ardith MacPherson, Lorna Fisher and Ralph (Dorinda) McCully, and dear sister-in-law of Carrie McCully, Lorraine McCully, Lois (Murray) McDougall and Gary Martin. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Bessie McCully, sisters Eva Staples and Dorothy Price, brothers Joe McCully, Chester McCully, Vernon McCully and Glenn McCully. Special thanks to Dr. Ben Chan, Dr. Dean Raso, the staff at Guelph General Hospital 5th floor, the care team at “Right At Home”, especially Candice, for their care and compassion. Friends were received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Tuesday 2:00 – 4:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm. A memorial service to celebrate Kay’s life was held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 1:30pm. Reception followed in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre. Interment Johnson Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Kathleen (Kay) Martin in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 2:30pm.
