MARTIN, Irene B. (nee Martin)

MARTIN, Irene B. (nee Martin). Irene Martin, of 7219 Line 86, Wallenstein, passed away peacefully into the presence of Jesus, at the Freeport Campus of Grand River Hospital on April 15, 2016, at the age of 89 years. She was born on November 17, 1926 in Woolwich Township. On March 19, 1952 she was united in marriage to Henry M. Martin and lived in holy matrimony for 64 years, 28 days. Besides her beloved husband, she is lovingly remembered by her sons and daughters: James (Delphine) of Bancroft; Timothy (Anna Mary) of Harriston; Dean (Anna) of Wallenstein; Dale (Maryann) of Ontario, Oregon; John (Ruby) of Alma; Joyce (John E.) Weaver of Thamesville; Ruth, at home; and Cheryl (Marvin) Bauman of Wallenstein. She is fondly remembered by 44 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. She is also remembered by her brothers: Edgar (Maryann) Martin of Elmira and Harvey of Drayton, as well as, by brothers and sisters-in-law: Emerson (Anna) Martin, Clarence (Eva) Martin, and Mary Weber, all of Elmira, Wilma Martin of Wellesley, Velina Martin of Parkhill, and Verna Martin of Waterloo. Irene was predeceased by her parents Ivan (1934) and Elizabeth (Bearinger) (1977) Martin; grandson Matthew Henry (in India, 2002); brother and sister and their spouses: Cleon (Cleta) Martin and Selema (Irvin) Bauman; and brothers-in-law: Nelson Martin, Amos L. Martin, and Cleason Weber. Irene was a faithful member of the Conservative Mennonite Church of Ontario. The family received relatives and friends on Monday, April 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 19, from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at Countryside Mennonite Fellowship, 3745 Herrgott Rd., Hawkesville. Interment followed in Calvary Conservative Mennonite Cemetery, 5064 Arthur St. N., Woolwich Township. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the CMCO India Mission.
