Peacefully passed away, surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the age of 85 years. Beloved husband of the late Almeda (Frey) Martin (2015). Loving father of James and Anne of Moorefield, Murray and Fern of Alma, Joyce and Barry of Drayton, Kenneth and Sandra of Harriston, Brian and Beverly of Moorefield, the late Wayne (2023) and Sherri-Ann of Alma, Glen and Diane of Wellesley, John and Erica of Guelph, and Gary and Roselyn of Moorefield. Survived by 38 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Brother of Naomi Frey, Samuel and Grace Martin, Anna and Lloyd Bauman, David and Marlene Martin, and Earl and Carol Martin. Brother-in-law of Edna and Abner Weber, Mary and Elmer Martin, and Elsie and Aden Weber. Predeceased by his parents Elias and Elizabeth Martin, one sister in infancy, sister Salome Martin, sister-in-law Doris Martin, brother-in-law Ernest Frey, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sarah and Melvin Brubacher. Visitation took place on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8pm and on Sunday, January 28 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A private family service was held at 9am on Monday, January 29, 2024 then to North Woolwich Mennonite Meeting House for burial and public service. A heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses at MSICU, second floor of St. Mary’s Hospital for the care provided to Dad.
