MARSHALL, Ronald R.; Suddenly slipped away at home on February 22, 2014. Constant companion and first love of his beautiful wife of 50 years, Bonnie (Baker). Loving hero, father, and friend of Tracey and Sam, Todd and Sarah, Travis and Tara. Incredible and special Grandpa Ron, Krampa, and Papa to Shawn, David, Owen, Emma, Jaylynn, Brea, Cameron, Christina, and Seanny. Caring brother to Joan, Christine, Sharon, sister-in-law Sandra and brother-in-law to Gerald and Ruth Ann. Predeceased by his brother Jim, his parents Everett (Sonny) and Ethel Marshall. He will be especially missed by his loving, supportive mother-in-law, Margaret Baker. Best buddy to Carlo Ferringo, John Becking, and Bob Crowder. Dedicated uncle of Lynn, Kevin, David, Denise, Matt, and Tara. Missed by so many other cousins, friends, and colleagues. Also missed by RD, Arden, and his other furry friends. Ron was a long time owner of Marshall Construction which was founded by his father in 1938. Ron was known by everyone in the industry as a fair, honest man with a big smile and an even bigger heart. His life’s work and company’s memory is lovingly tended and was taken over by his son Todd at the beginning of his illness 8 years ago. Ron was “Coach Marshall” to so many kids in Guelph over the years. He coached Ross Drywall Hockey, minor soccer, and his beloved Guelph Minor Football “Ti-Cats.” Tremendous thanks to Guelph Renal Clinic for many years of support and encouragement. Thanks also to Puslinch Fire Volunteers and Guelph Ambulance for always coming when we called, and to the last 911 operator who helped us through a very difficult time. You’re going to be greatly missed by everyone. Our lives will be empty without your jokes, your laughter, and your heart. You were known to everyone by many names: Husband, Dad, Krampa, Papa, Uncle, Son, Friend, Brother, Cousin, Buddy, Ronnie; but to all of us…you will always be known as ‘Ron’. Family and friends are invited to the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Friday, February 28, 2014 for visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held in the Hart Chapel on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11 am.
