Passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, surrounded by her daughters LuAnn Leroux and Lori Kamino. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and Mike Smolcic, whom have all shared in the life of Joan. Predeceased by her son William Mark Marinier (1958), husband William (Bill) Marinier (1985), her parents Annie Carpenter (1944), Everett Carpenter (1978), son-in-law Michael Kamino (2018), brother Jim Carpenter (2020) and sister-in-law Bessie Carpenter (2023). Joan was “Mom” to many but Granny to one, Lori-Anne Constable-Smolcic (2024). Joan leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Graham Cummins and Dr. Chris Lund, and the nurses and PSW’s at Groves Memorial Community Hospital for the compassion you showed our Mom these last 4 weeks. Also, to Brad and Heather Halls, Debbie and Bryan Willetts and Jim Carpenter Jr. and family for all that you did for Mom. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Groves Memorial Community Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14th from 11am until 12:30pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus, Ontario, with words of remembrance to be shared by the family at 12:30pm in the chapel. Interment will take place at Belsyde Cemetery in Fergus. Following the interment, guests are invited upstairs to the Wellington Room for a time of fellowship and refreshments.
