We have your load from here, driver. Dale passed peacefully at his home in Harriston on Saturday December 28, 2024. He will be sadly missed by sisters Bonnie Henry of Kitchener and Shannon “Jill” MacLean (Don Montgomery) of Harriston. Dale is remembered by his nieces and nephews: Adrienne Mills (Dan), Scott Mills (Eileen), Chad Henry (Laurie) and Carrie Henry; great-nieces and nephews: Alexandra, Isabella, Cole, Carly, Grayson and Lochlan; as well as many cousins and friends across Canada. Will be missed by special friend and companion Leona Steffler and her family of Harriston. Predeceased by his parents, George “Scotty” and Isobel (Shannon) MacLean; sister Lynda Mills; brothers-in-law Wayne Mills and Doug Henry. Dale was known to many hometown friends as “Louie” when he was playing hockey as a goaltender and playing baseball with Harriston Minor Sports in the 1960s. Dale was a 50+ year veteran in the trucking industry. The last 45 years was spent hauling cattle across Canada, the United States and Mexico. This was his true passion. The funeral service will be held at Knox-Calvin Presbyterian Church, Harriston, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, with visitation from 11:30am until the time of the funeral at 1:00pm. Rev. Don McCallum officiating. Interment in the Harriston Cemetery. The service will be live-streamed, and the link is available on the funeral home website. Memorial donations to the Palmerston & District Hospital or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated and may be made through the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston.
