MacGREGOR, Wilma

Passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Beloved wife of 65 years to the late Don MacGregor (2010). Dear mother of Sandra Starkey (Bruce) and Donna MacGregor. Loving grandmother of Michael Drumm (Lisa Gordon), Vanessa MacGregor (Dale Pike). Cherished great grandmother of Elissia, Dylan and Victoria Drumm, Talan and Bella Pike, and Reylen Gordon, and loving great great mother of 8 grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Walter Russell and Isabella Maude (nee, Fulton) Greenley, brother Walter “Jack” Greenley and sisters Irma Greenley and Doran Rolston Greenley and brother-in-law David Rolston. Wilma was born on March 30, 1926 in Harriston, Ontario. When Wilma started working at Beatty Brothers, she had moved to Fergus and that’s where she met her husband, Don MacGregor, who was currently on leave for the Royal Canadian Airforce. Wilma and Don loved to travel with Sandra and Bruce to Scotland, Ireland, Whales and Holland. Wilma was an excellent cook and baker, who loved canning. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #275 for 59 years. Wilma always loved a good laugh, and she will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the nurses at Guelph General Hospital and Groves Memorial Hospital, Dr. Hoey, Dr. Easterbrook and Dr. Hodkinson for the care and compassion they provided for Mom. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus, with a reception to follow in the Wellington Room, located upstairs of the funeral home. A private family graveside will be held.
