Passed away peacefully at the Hospice Wellington on January 28, 2023 at the age of 84. She is survived by her brother Harold Green of Welland, sister-in-law Betty Green of Guelph, many nieces and nephews and good friend Donna Pringle. She is predeceased by her husband William Luxford, her mother-in-law Mabel Luxford, her sister-in-law Lorraine and brother-in-law Burton Luxford, her brothers Leonard Green, Raymond (Lois) Green, Douglas (Dorothy) Green, Charlie (Toni) Green and sister-in-law Violet Green. She was born and raised on a farm in Kincardine, Ontario. Mae loved working on the farm with her dad. Most of her life was spent in Guelph working at Biltmore Hats and the Elliott Nursing Home. She was an active member of Guelph Salvation Army Church. She loved her pets, watching Young & the Restless, country music, Irish music and travelling with her husband Bill by motorbike or in their motor home. A service was held at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Wednesday, February 1st at 11:00am. A reception followed in the Wall-Custance Reception centre. There will be a private family interment in the spring. Memorial contributions in Mae’s memory to the Salvation Army Church (Guelph) or Hospice Wellington would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of R. Mae Luxford in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
