Obituary

James Henry ‘Harry’ Lund passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Palmerston on Friday, May 12, 2023, in his 85th year. Husband of Kathleen Lund for 62 years. Father of Stephen Lund & Sheila Bater-Lund of Harriston, Carolyn Lund & Brian Calder of Waterloo, Susan Lund of Harriston, Christine & Ian Wooldridge of Brampton, and Daniel Lund & Jessica Wardell of Palmerston. Proud grandfather of Justin, Thomas, Joseph, and Talhia. Brother of Patricia & Peter Edwards of England, and brother-in-law of Anne & Alan Campbell of Hamilton, and Patricia & Ron Harrop of England. James was born in Bebington, England, on October 27, 1938.  Harry, or ‘H’ as he was often called by his British friends and family, married Kathleen Doherty on October 21, 1961. An intelligent man and passionate athlete, Harry was an accomplished long-distance runner during his University years as well as an awarded 5-pin bowler and badminton player in his adult life. Harry and Kathleen immigrated to Canada in 1964, where they were now referred to as Jim & Kathy. Jim started his profession career as a Chemical and Technical Engineer in the Pulp and Paper Industry with a published thesis based on Cancer in the Pulp and Paper industry in 1992. Of all his accomplishments he counted his proudest as seeing what his children had achieved. Private family arrangements have been entrusted to the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston.
