LOREE, Helen Louise (Crozier)

September 16, 1930 - May 27, 2024

Passed away peacefully at Groves Memorial Community Hospital with her children around her; she will dearly missed by her family and friends. Helen is predeceased by her husband of 72 years, James M. Loree. Helen is survived by her sister Elizabeth (Betty) Loree of Justice MB, and her seven children. Helen was born in Brandon MB, the second daughter of Ettie and Waldron Crozier. She suffered from polio as a young child and often talked about being quarantined in the hospital for a month at six years of age. Helen attended Brandon College and met her husband Jim at a dance. After they married, they moved frequently with their growing family. Helen attended Teacher’s College in Winnipeg and worked as a primary school teacher at Robert Browning Public School in Winnipeg and then at John Black Public School in Fergus until she retired. Thank you to: Dr. John Stickney for his years of dedication and commitment as Helen’s primary care physician. Highland Manor staff and residents for 18 years of devoted care for our mother. You all brought her comfort, friendship  and support during her time with you. Dr. Lund, the ER doctors and the entire nursing staff at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. Your professionalism, kindness and  compassion made a sad time for us much easier. Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home for their assistance. Our families and friends who have supported us in our grief. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to Groves Memorial Community Hospital.
