LOGAN, Luella “Lou” (nee Wideman) of Palmerston passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Thursday, December 7, 2017 in her 88th year. Beloved wife and best friend of Bob Logan for 69 years. Cherished mother of Wendy Logan and Rick Fleet of Drew, Scott and Cathie Logan of Mississauga, Carolyn Logan Estey and Alden Estey of White Rock, B.C. and Jennifer Logan and Christy Gombay of Peterborough. Grandmother of Meghan Marshall and Andrew Ghetler, Robin Marshall and Eli Cooke, Caeleigh Marshall; Sarah Logan and her fiancé Francois Lecavalier, Joanna Logan; Jake Estey and Ryan Estey; Mackenzie Holden, Sydney Holden. Great grandmother of Ava, Juney Lou, Brynn, Paige and Hunter. Sister-in-law of Robert Lewis of Stouffville, Carolyn and Grant Gooding of Oakville. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her sister Margaret Lewis, sister-in-law Dr. Jane Schunk and her husband Dr. Karl Schunk. Lou was born on October 10th, 1930 to Ed and Bessie Wideman. She grew up on a farm in Stouffville, ON until she began teacher’s college in Toronto. Bob was besotted by the feisty redhead that caught his eye at the Markham Fair. The two eloped and moved to Palmerston to start their family, which was always most important and meaningful in their lives. Lou was a mother of four children, an elementary school teacher, a real estate agent, and an active member of the community. She made history when she became Wellington’s First Lady to sit on County Council. Lou stayed true to her farming roots throughout her life as a dedicated partner of the Logan Sheep Farm. We will miss you, Grandma Lou. The family received friends at the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston on Sunday, December 10, 2017.
