Passed away peacefully at the Wellington Hospice in Guelph, at the age of 78. John is survived by his devoted wife Penny, his beloved sister Diane (Alex) Pappas of Vancouver. His four sons Micah (Fang), Kyle (Pauline), Alex (Anthea), Eric (Moein). Grandfather to Elias and Electra. Step Father of Heather and Jessie O’Donnell. Uncle to Damon (Viviane) Pappas. Sister in Law Stephenie (Steve). John was an outdoor education Teacher in Wellington County for 30 years. He built 2 log homes in Grey County which still stand today in the woods he so loved. He was an avid canoeist and skier. John’s favourite season was winter, skiing for miles on a cold sunny winter’s day was his idea of heaven. His canoe trips were legendary. I wish to thank our neighbours and friends for the time spent visiting John in the hospital, gifts of food, your support, and love. A special thank you to Dr. Lund and the amazing care team at the Hospice Wellington in Guelph. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Memorial donations to Hospice Wellington in Guelph or Aboyne Hospice in Fergus would be greatly appreciated.
