It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ross LeDrew on Thursday, June 22, 2023, in his 94th year. He is reunited at last with his beloved wife, Alice. Ross was the devoted father of Brian (2021), James (2016) (Lone) and Karen Johnson (Michael). He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren; Chris (Liz), Alison (Matt), Wayne (Jasmine), Robert (Rosa), Brenan (Audrey) Jeffrey (Kelly), and Matthew, as well as ten great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, George and Agnes (Billings) and his brother Frederick. Ross was born and raised in Toronto where he attended Essex Street Public School and Central Technical School. He went on to receive his RIA/CMA degree through the University of Toronto. Ross was employed by Moore Business Forms for 44 years as Plant Controller, both in Mt. Dennis and Fergus. He was a long serving member of the Boy Scouts of Canada, Young Men’s Canadian Club of Toronto (past president), Big Brothers (Fergus), the Fergus Curling Club, the Fergus Golf Club, the Royal Canadian Legion (Fergus Branch 275), and the Fergus/Elora Rotary Club (Paul Harris recipient). Ross was an avid skier, golfer, hockey player and curler, and was honoured to be a member of the Rotary Canada to Scotland Curling Team (1986). Together with Alice, they travelled the world, completing eleven cruises and twenty one ski trips, as well as land travel through the UK, Europe, the US and Canada. They were happy to have spent eighteen years in sunny Dunedin, Florida. As a young family, as the children grew up, they enjoyed yearly trips sailing, camping and canoeing through Algonquin Park. As per Ross’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service was held at Belsyde Cemetery in Fergus on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ross may be made to the Groves Memorial Hospital Foundation, and are greatly appreciated by his family.
