It is with immense sadness that we announce that Yvon Lachance of Sauble Beach formerly of Guelph and Acton has passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 in Owen Sound. Yvon was a very gentle, honest, hardworking husband, father and grandfather who adored his family. Yvon leaves behind his high school sweetheart of 60 years Eunice (Norrish). He was most proud of his son Dean (Ann) and his daughter Heather (Adam) De Rooy. His grandchildren were very loved and precious to him. Claire Lachance, Ella De Rooy, Cole De Rooy. Yvon was predeceased by his parents Avit and Emily Lachance and his sister Carmen Lachance. He is fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins and his brother-in-law Clifford Norrish. As per Yvon’s request there will a private gathering of family and friends to honour his life at a later date. We will truly miss his love, support, many humorous comments and joking nature. We wish to thank the staff on the 4th floor of the Owen Sound hospital for their excellent care and compassion for Yvon over the last 2 weeks. If so desired donations may be made to the Owen Sound or Wiarton hospital or a charity of your choice in Yvon’s name. Arrangements entrusted to Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com). A tree will be planted in memory of J. Yvon Lachance in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
