86, of Elora, Ontario passed away on September 20th at St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre in Guelph. Erling is survived by his sons Michael Kristensen and Eric Fox-Kristensen, daughter in law Christine Fox-Kristensen and grandsons Owen and Ashton Fox-Kristensen, as well as partner Elaine Tollefson. He is preceded in death by his wife Marie Kristensen (1940 – 2009). Erling was born in Fjelso, Denmark to parents Kristen and Kirstine Kristensen on July 29th, 1938. He worked on the family farm until he entered the military at 19 years old. Erling’s military service took him to the Middle East where he served with the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Gaza and Palestine. When his service in the military ended, he continued his adventurous ways travelling the world. Eventually, he found his way to Canada. After spending time in Alberta, working on his uncle’s farm, Erling desired a change and settled in Toronto where he began working for Bell Canada in building maintenance. He also met his wife Marie Jabbour, who had immigrated to Canada after resettling in Egypt from Palestine. Erling and Marie married in 1971 in Toronto and raised two sons with whom they had many adventures. In 2009, Erling met Elaine and continued his adventurous ways travelling the world, seeing new places and having many more amazing experiences and adventures. The visitation will be held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home located at 280 St. David St. S Fergus, Ontario on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 3:00 – 5:00pm.
