Kraaijevld, Jan Cornelis WW11 1939-1946 Lieutenant (E); Royal Dutch Navy 1939-1940, RNVR British Navy 1940-1946. Order of Oranje Nassau crossed swords awarded 1943. Served in the Atlantic, Mediterranean, West and North Africa, D Day Invasion, India and the far east. Born on June 30, 1917, passed away on July 18, 2008. Will be dearly missed by wife Jean (nee Allen) of 63 years. Loving father of Adrian (Donna) and Judy (Glenn). Dearest OPA to Corben (Monique), Johanna, Karla and Ryan Bristow, and Kyle (Jen) and Alanna Kraaijeveld. Survived by sister Johanna VanEerden, sisters in law Jopie (Nico) of the Netherlands, Dorothy Allen of Vancouver and Erica Jackson of England, as well as many nieces and nephews of Vancouver, England and the Netherlands. Predeceased by parents Cornelis and Johanna, brothers Piet and Willem and son in law Mark Bristow. Jan enjoyed walking with Jean, canoeing at the cottage, golfing, gardening and wood working. At Jan’s request there will be no visitation or funeral but a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
