KOPECKI, Bennet “Ben”

A loving father and husband, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, June 3, 2024, after a courageous six-year battle with cancer. His unwavering strength and love for life touched everyone who knew him. Ben’s strong faith sustained him throughout his illness. He found solace in prayer and believed in the power of divine grace. Ben was a devoted husband to his wife, Betty, and a proud father of five children, Krystyna (James), Joanne (Carlos), Andrew (Samm), Cecilia and Ella (Chris). His eight grandchildren adored their “Papa,” and his influence will continue to shape their lives. He greatly appreciated the support and love of his extended family and friends, and the companionship of his many granddogs over the years. His love knew no bounds, and he cherished every moment spent with the people around him. Ben’s heart also belonged to the sprawling beauty of the West Coast. He loved to share stories of his time in the Rocky Mountains and on the Pacific Ocean. He taught his children that life was richer when set to music. From classic rock to modern hits, we all have a song that reminds us of Dad. Ben was also the go-to person for advice on the latest gadgets and technologies. He could diagnose any problem and fix it. His workbench was always a treasure trove of tools and spare parts. Ben’s memory will last forever in the laughter of family gatherings, the hum of his favourite songs, and the glow of screens he tinkered with. As we mourn his loss, we celebrate the remarkable man he was—a beacon of faith, strength, wisdom, and unwavering love. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church, 310 Parkside Drive, Mount Forest, on Saturday, June 8th at 11:00am. Interment took place at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Kenilworth. Following, all were invited for refreshments and fellowship at Sacred Heart Church, Kenilworth. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Sacred Heart Church, Kenilworth, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to the England Funeral Home, Mount Forest.

Rest in peace, dear Ben.
Your spirit lives on in our hearts.
