KLEMP, Dwayne

August 25, 1961 - November 7, 2024

It breaks our hearts that Dwayne Norman Klemp passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. His courageous fight against cancer ended on Thursday, November 7, 2024 in his 64th year. Husband and best friend of Janet (Dewar) Klemp for 40 years. Brother of Don and Debby Klemp of Belmont, and Keith and Heather Klemp of Listowel, and brother-in-law of Donna MacRitchie of Clifford. Dwayne will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews Tyler Klemp & Angela Wilson, Zack and Danielle Klemp, Katrina Klemp & Justin Weishar, Jennifer & Gary Martin, Jeff & Carrie Klemp, Murray MacRitchie & Christine Bowman, Katie & Nathan Coulas; and by 13 great nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Stan & Peg (Fulton) Klemp, and by Janet’s parents Allan & Alice (McLeod) Dewar. Dwayne was born in Palmerston on August 25, 1961 and grew up in Harriston. His love of driving started when he joined Canada Packers and he drove tractor trailer to Montreal and PEI until they closed. He worked at Speare Seeds for 17 years until he retired. He met Janet in high school and they married July 14, 1984, celebrating their 40th anniversary this summer. They lived in Harriston for 16 years then moved to the country. He loved being in the country and keeping his yard in perfect condition. He also loved his work shop, making many wood projects, putting golf clubs together or refinishing them for family and friends. The shop was always open to stop in and have a beverage or two. He loved his many fur babies and was always willing to take in a puppy or two. He truly loved a good game of golf with his many close friends. Dwayne and Janet did a lot of travelling around the world. A very special trip for the two of them was to Africa where together they helped build a school in Kenya. Retiring in 2018, they purchased a motor home and spent winters in Florida golfing and enjoying time with friends and family. Dwayne’s favourite people were his nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. The love and affection that he had for each and every one of them was like no other love. A celebration of Dwayne’s life will be held at Pike Lake Club House on Saturday, November 16th from 1:00 to 4:00pm with memories being shared at 2:00pm. Interment will be at Clifford Cemetery. Family is thankful to Dr. O’Neill and the Louise Marshall Hospital Oncology Unit, Mount Forest for all their care and compassion. Memorial donations to Palmerston & District Hospital MRI, Minto Fire Department or Louise Marshall Hospital Oncology Unit would be appreciated and may be made through the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston.
