HOWES, George Elwood; Born November 23, 1924 on the 6th line of West Garafraxa Township. WWII veteran Governor General’s Foot Guards 4th Canadian Armoured Brigade and lifelong resident of Fergus and member of RCL Br#275, Fergus. Predeceased by wife Ruth Rayson. Will be missed by daughter Lynda (Eagles) of Meaford; Bob (Brenda) of Feversham. Grandchildren Paul (Nancy) Eagles, Julie (Eagles) (Mark) Pendleton, Leah Howes. Great grandchildren: Justin, Brandon, Kourtney Eagles, Marlie, Allie Pendleton. Predeceased by his parents Charles (Carl) and Mary (Oswald) Howes, brothers, James Oswald, Kenneth and son in law Ken Eagles. Visitation will be held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, Fergus on Friday, July 4th, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 am. A Legion service will be held at 11:00 which will be followed by a funeral service.
