Howe, Marie (nee Kitchen); 1921 – 2011; Peacefully, with family by her side, Marie passed away on May 10th. Cremation has taken place and a family memorial is forthcoming.Loving wife of the late Louis Howe, Marie had two boys, Gregg and Graham. She will be fondly remembered by their families and many friends and relatives. As we say goodbye to mom, she would want to thank each and every one of you who showed friendship, love and kindness to her throughout her life. She put the greatest value on those qualities and shared them liberally. Mom grew up during the Great Depression, the youngest of three sisters. It shaped her belief in people helping people. She was an optimist and was thankful for everyone in her life. In mom’s final years, she was dependent on the love and kindness of others. No longer able to be the doer, she received assistance with gratitude and affection always saying “Thank you” with a smile. The very special staff at Wellington Terrace in Elora-Fergus treated mom with gentle, loving care when she needed it most. Mom was without pretence. She had a heart disproportionate to her five foot frame. She’ll be missed. Hopefully, we can do things that would make her proud of the love and time that she shared with us. In lieu of cards and flowers, please hug your mom. If that is not possible, we certainly understand, and hope you too have many wonderful memories to rely on.
