Obituary

Of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday, February 25, 2022, in her 74th year. Wife of Bert Horton.  Mother of Jeff Horton and his wife Sandra, Nancy Petrie and her husband Ray, and Jeremy Horton and his wife Melanie, all of Listowel. Grandmother of Kathleen, Nicholas, Sarah, Madeline, Adam, Kayden, Lucas, Jacob, Jayve, Briden, Nicholas. Sister of Patricia Lepischak and her husband Elmer of St. Thomas, Jim Edmunds and his wife Anne of Bayfield, Steven Edmunds and wife Cinthia of Halifax, and sister-in-law of Larry Horton and his wife Carol of Paris, Sharon Robbins and her husband Harold of Guelph, Marlene Kay and her husband Earl of Kincardine, Brenda Newman and her husband Rick of Listowel, Dennis Horton and his friend Marilyn Whaley, and Debbie Leyland and her friend Les Robinson, and Joan Horton of Palmerston. Remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Susan was born in Palmerston on March 28, 1948 to the late Arthur and Dorothy (Surphlis) Edmunds.   She moved to Listowel when she and Bert were married, and together they raised their children and watched their grandchildren grow. Susan loved spending time at the cottage, knitting, cross-stitch, word puzzles, reading, and family vacations.  She was a proud supporter of her family, always attending her grandchildren’s activities. Susan will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm. The funeral service was held at Trinity United Church, Listowel, on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 11:00am. Rev. Beth Kerr officiating.
