HOAG, Frances Ann (nee Patton). Peacefully on March 8, 2018, at the age of 85. Much loved wife of Fred for more than 60 years. Loved by Valerie (Kevin), Laura, Kate (John), Rob (Tracey), Olivia, Fiona, Sophie Rose, Gordon McNabb, Claire, Jacob, Nicholas, Serena and Dustin. Fran loved her cats and her family’s animals. She was a proud resident of Erin for over 40 years, contributing her time and energy to the Erin Arts Council and EWAG. She enjoyed her time as a primary school teacher in Toronto and Kingston. Mom had appreciated the warm atmosphere and attentive staff on the third floor of The Elliott, for the past year and a half. A celebration of Fran’s life for family and friends will be held in the chapel at The Elliott Community, 170 Metcalfe Street, Guelph on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2 p.m., starting with a service led by Rev. Deacon Irene Walback. Please bring your favourite story about Fran to share at the reception following the service. Her wish to have her body donated to science has been honoured by her family. Mom was passionate about a number of causes, involving social justice and animal welfare. Instead of flowers, please consider donations to The Special Friends Club, Cats Anonymous, and the Craig Jury Memorial Summer Studentship in Cancer Research as these causes were particularly dear to Fran’s heart. Arrangements entrusted to the Memory Gardens Funeral Home 2723 Victoria St. N. Breslau 519-904-0400. If so desired a book of online condolences may be signed at www.memorycemetery.ca.
