Roy Herbert Heighes of Harriston, and formerly of Minto Township, passed away at Palmerston Hospital on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, in his 101st year. Roy was the beloved husband of the late Edna (Cudney) Heighes, and father of Heather Heighes & Ivan Bondarenko of Waterloo, and Janice Heighes of Kitchener & Andy Gallacher of Burlington. Remembered by his sister-in-law Shirley Cudney of Elora, and by his many friends. Predeceased by his parents Wm. Herbert & Bernice (McGee) Heighes, brothers Cecil, Harold, and Duke, and by his sisters Edna Lyon and Ethel Edwards. Roy moved to Minto as a teenager, and after marrying Edna, they farmed together for many years. The family would like to thank the staff of Caressant Care in Harriston for the exceptional care he was given. As well, they are thankful for his many loyal and constant friends. The family interment and committal services was held at Harriston Cemetery on Saturday, August 3rd at 9:30am. The funeral service followed at Hardy-Lee Funeral Home at 11:00am, with visitation one prior. Reception at Harriston United Church.
