Obituary

David Albert Hartung of Palmerston passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on October 3, 2023, in his 88th year. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (Potts) Hartung in 1987. Beloved partner of Lillian (Lil) Henry. Proud father of Kathy Deniet of Burks Falls,  Karen & Bevin Brooks of Listowel, Wayne Schnittker of Hanover, 13 grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren. Also remembered by Lil’s family,  Rhonda & Don Bristowe, John & Brenda Henry, Leesa & Dave Rintoul & families. Survived also by brother Wayne Hartung & sisters-in-law Joan Hartung & Inez Hartung, as well as many nieces, nephews & friends. Predeceased by daughter  Brenda Schnittker (2017),  infant son, sisters & brothers-in-law,   Mildred & Harvey Hammond, Gerald & Lorraine Hartung, Dorothy & Ted Rieck, Delton Hartung,  John & Ardith Hartung, Laverne & Joyce Hartung, Ken Hartung, Lyle Hartung & Shirley Hartung. Visitation @ Listowel Community Family Funeral Home, on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8pm. Funeral service was held at Zion United Church, Wallace Township, on  Saturday, October 7, 2023  at  11am. with Rev. Brian Hymers officiating. Interment in Zion United Church Cemetery. Memorial remembrances to Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, 835 King St. W.,  Kitchener, ON   N2G 1G3  or    North Perth Community Hospice, 135 Main St. W.,  Listowel   N4W 1A2 would be appreciated.
