Passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on Monday February 28, 2022 at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus, Ontario surrounded by family. Lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years Vern “Butch” Hart. Linda is survived by her children Laurie Rogers (George), Marion Tilemans (Dan), daughter-in law Rhonda Bauer (Joe) and her brother Gord Tucker (Nancy). Her pride and joy were her six grandchildren Ryan, Emily (Sean), Stephanie (Danny), Nicole (Kyle), James and Chelsey (Sean). And two great-grandchildren Hadley and Landon. Linda will be missed by her many nephews, nieces, and extended families. Predeceased by her parents James & Catherine Tucker and her son David. Linda was born on September 10, 1941 in New Liskeard Ontario. She married Vern on August 29, 1959 in Virginiatown, Ontario. Throughout their years of marriage they lived in Monteith, Guelph and finally settled in Elora after winning the lottery and building their dream home. Linda & Vern enjoyed spending their time traveling to Florida, Graceland, Dollywood, Niagara Falls and returning up north to visit family. They were frequent patrons of the Gorge Country Kitchen, where they were treated like family. Linda worked for the Board of Education in Iroquois Falls and the Upper Grand District School Board in the Speech and Pathology department. She retired at the age of 60, but then went back to work at the University of Guelph for 10 years. Linda spent much of her free time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed taking them on trips to Santa’s Village, Darien Lake, Canada’s Wonderland and Toronto Blue Jays games. If you were trying to get a hold of Linda at night, you knew not to call between 7-8pm as she was watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She also loved watching Dr. Pol and Walker Texas Ranger. She was an avid hockey fan and her favourite player was Cal Clutterbuck. Linda loved animals, especially her grand-puppies Willow, Marley, Ollie & Kali. A celebration of life will take place at the Elora Legion on Saturday March 5, 2022 from 1-4pm. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus for their exceptional care over the past month. Special thank you to Dr. Easterbrook for his attentiveness and compassion to Linda throughout the years. Also thank you to all of her PSW’s, especially Tracey, Meghan & Aila. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Groves Memorial Hospital or Guelph Humane Society in Linda’s memory.
