HARRIS, Barbara Joan

February 14, 1938 - March 24, 2025

Celebrating the Life of Barbara Joan Harris Barbara Joan Harris passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, at Hospice Wellington in Guelph, Ontario, at the age of 87. Born on Valentine’s Day in 1938 in Toronto, she brought love and creativity into the world from the very start. She leaves behind her beloved husband Larry, her children Steve, Sue, and Laura, her grandchildren Andrea, Thomas, Lynne, David, Amy, and Elliot, and great-grandchildren Chloe, Aiden, Rachel, and Molly. She was predeceased by her parents, Henrietta and William Kitts. Barbara lived a full and vibrant life. She worked at Milton Hospital, served as an editor at Country Guide magazine, and later enjoyed many years at Mohawk Raceway. But beyond her career, Barbara was so much more — an amazing mother, a talented artist, jeweller, passionate gardener, lifelong reader, and proud member of the Canadian Pastel Art Society. She had a beautiful way of seeing the world and passed that on to those around her. She taught us to be brave, kind, fair, empathetic, and to treat nature — and people — with respect. She lived with passion, and her creativity and love continue to shine through the lives she touched. We gathered to share stories, laughter, and memories of Barbara’s life on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South in Fergus. All were welcome. Refreshments were served. Arrangements were entrusted to Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home Ltd., 280 St. David St. S. Fergus, ON N1M 2L5, (519) 843-3100.
